Jewish education is flawed because too much is taught by too many with insufficient focus. This results in dilettantism, trivialisation and distortion. Inadequately informed teachers do the Holocaust a disservice. We now have phenomena like the so-called "Holocaust bandwagon" and "Shoah Business." If students are to gain even a glimmer of understanding of Holocaust history, they need to made minimally conversant with modern history.
