Memoir of Mira Ryczkewho who was born in 1923 in Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland). With the Polish capitulation to Germany in the autumn of 1939 Mira and her family were forced from their home. After several years in ghettos she was sent to Auschwitz in 1944 where she escaped the gas chambers by being selected for slave labor. She was then transported to Bergen-Belsen where the British forces liberated the camp.
