Lotte was born in Bratislava in Slovakia into a large and loving family. This came to an abrupt end when in 1942, she was forcibly deported with two of her sisters, to Auschwitz. Lotte survived three years slave labour in the death camp and after the war managed to get to New Zealand and later to Australia
