An interesting memoir of a part-Jewish girl growing up in Nazi Germany, Koehn's grandmother,a Jew was killed in Theresienstadt, but Ilse was never told about her Jewishness, mostly for her protection. Although classified as a "mischling," Ilse became a leader in the Hitler Youth. Only after the war did she learn about her Jewish heritage
