In 1943, after the final destruction of the Warsaw Ghetto, news spread among those hiding on the "Aryan" side that an exchange was to be undertaken by the Germans and that every Jew had a chance tyo participate. Thousands reported to the assembly point - Hotel Polski. Some survived, but the majority eventually went to the gas chambers of Auschwitz. Was it a trap? What went wrong and who betrayed the victims? The author combed the archives of Israel and Paris and interviewed many survivors of the event. It is the first book about this dramatic episode
