Testimony of a girl from Poland who suffered persecution but kept her spititual strength. While experiencing a few kind acts from others, she nevertheless learned to hone her self-reliance. Having lost her own mother, this teenager made ingenious efforts to save others while managing to avoid capture.After the war she ran an orphanage in Poland and smuggled Jews into Palestine in defiance of the British. She was named a Hero of the Soviet Union.
