DescrizioneThis is a black and white photograph of a New South Wales Gateway at the Bradfield Jamboree. The Gateway features a three tier wooden frame with five flags attached, a Scout figure standing on the top tier and a circular symbol of two shaking hands on the second tier. Four Scouts in uniform are standing near the Gateway. An Australasian Scout Jamboree was held at Bradfield Park on an old race course previously known as Cook’s Flat between December 1938 and January 1939. The Jamboree attracted Scouts from all over the world. Following the Jamboree, the site became a training depot for the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II.
