There are no apparent silver marks nor hallmarks. The work could be of North African or Iranian origin, most likely by a Jewish silversmith, dated c 1900. The item is in four pieces: a: cylinder; b: base; c: small lift-out piece, and d: roll-on rod with a decorated bone handle. Rather than 'silver plated', it is thought to be an alloy of copper with a low (40-50% ) silver content, sometimes referred to as 'white' metal.
