DescrizioneWatercolor painting of a landscape scene, most likely made in Terezin by Charlotte Buresova. This painting belonged to donors mother Hana Kellnerova who was an inmate of Terezin.
Charlotte Burešová studied at the Industrial Art School and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In 1941, she was forced to leave her home and cease all artistic activities. In 1942, she was transported to the Terezin ghetto. Under orders, she created greeting cards and later worked in the artists’ workshop. She worked with artists such as Jo Spier, reflecting both life in Terezin as well as images of cultural activities such as musicians and dancers. Charlotte Buresova lived in Prague until her death in 1983.
