Tells the story of a German Jewish refugee, Albert Klestadt, who managed to escape from Nazi Germany with his brother and ended up in Japan. He left Japan in 1941 and arrived in Australia after the attack on Pearl Harbour. After the war he returned to Japan and became a member of the war crimes investigation. In that role he exposed massacres which took place in New Guinea, known as the Akikaze and Kavieng Massacres
