Examines the various ways in which the Greek government-in-exile in Cairo was in contact with various Jewish organizations and groups of Greek Jews in Egypt and Palestine about issues of rescue of those Jews facing deportation from Greece to the death camps. While the Greek government was concerned with the fate of Greek Jewry, most of the successful assistance came in the form of help to Jewish refugees rather than the rescue of those still in Greece
