Descrizione
Examines the use made by artists of the figure of Christ as a symbol of specifically Jewish martyrdom before, during and after the Holocaust: Goya, Chagall, Grosz, Heartfield among others. Artists also used the Christ symbol to attack the Church for its silence and inaction during the Holocaust. Their message: in killing Jews or other innocent victims, Christians were betraying and killing Christ himself. But few listened.
