Floris Kalman was 8 years old when she went into hiding in a children's holiday home. Her next home was with the Van den Boren family. However Jewish kids could not go to school, so she stayed at home and read all day. After that she was placed with a devout Catholic woman who took her to church a lot. Of the families who helped them, two families were nominated for the award "Righteous among the Nations"
