Montefiore Homes: 150 years of care.

The Melbourne Jewish Philanthropic Society, the organisation behind the Homes, began in 1848 and is the oldest continuously running philanthropic group in Melbourne. Initially the Society provided direct assistence to the needy, later it became responsible for administering the Homes and organising fund-raising.
