Sylvia Rothholz (nee Schindler) was born on the 5th of February, 1889 in Breslau, Germany. Her husband Georg ran a department store named Georg Rothholz, while Sylvia raised their two children, Irene and Rudi. In 1933, Georg committed suicide, widowing Sylvia. In 1939, Sylvia immigrated to Shanghai, China with her daughter Irene, son Rudi, and son-in-law Edgar Boehm. There, Sylvia became sick, and died from cancer on the 21st of June 1939.
