DescriptionLetter of recommendation for Miss Alice Krohn, typed in German, dated 31 July 1935. From H. Bandler of Vienna, Austria who was Alice's boss in a shoe export department. He recommends her to future employers in her chosen destination, South Africa.
Testimonial: Herewith it is confirmed that Miss Alice Krohn was engaged in our shoe export department from 2 January 1934 until this day. Her efficiency was remarkable and her diligence and exactness enabled me to leave the management of this department fully in her hands. Miss Krohn leaves my service on her own accord to embark for South Africa. My best wishes accompany her for her further life. I can warmly recommend her to anybody. Signed: H. Bandler
Part of a collection of material purchased at an auction in Annandale when a lot came up but no one bid on it. The donor realized it was going to be thrown away and bid $5 for it, because he dislikes it when people's history is discarded. Some of the correspondence relates to Jewish welfare, and thus he thought to donate the material to the Sydney Jewish Museum.
