DescriptionWooden Mezzuzah with hand-written scroll (klaf) inside. It is cylindrical in shape and has remnants of red paint on the outside. There are two grooves around the top and bottom ends with a small hole drilled straight through the wood at each groove. It was found on the wharf in Amsterdam in 1943 by a non-Jewish man who cleaned and polished it and kept it safe until donating it to the Museum in 2008.
