The dagger belonged to Captain John Einfeld, husband of the donor. Capt. Einfeld obtained it from a Japanese prisoner-of-war, at the end of the war in New Guinea. The dagger is probably worn by non-commissioned officers, as the commissioned officer's scabbard was leather.
