It was purchased by the donor in a flea market in Lvov, 1997.
As of July 1938, every German citizen over the age of 15 was required to carry a Kennkarte at all times. Deutsches Reich Kennkartes were constructed from durable linen to ensure their longevity and making it difficult to produce forgeries.
