Description
Holocaust diaries often use two calendars - Gregorian and Jewish - to date entries and events. Translators have found it difficult to integrate this dating. On the basis of seminal diaries, the author of this article argues that the translator's omission of the dual-calendar perspective comprises the translator's integrity and distorts crucial aspectsof the diarist's confrontation with his/her wartime ordeal
