Description
This paper analyses this event in its various aspects, the Jewish and Arab responses and the role of the Farhud in their collective memory. The Farhud [Arabic:the destruction of order, robbery], marked the break between Jews and Arabs in Iraq, forming a background to Jewish emigration from Iraq to Israel in 1950-1951.
