With respect to students and learning about the Holocaust, there is great diversity in research and practice. A review of the available research demonstrates that there is little consensus about the impact of Holocaust education on students. Some research points to beneficial results such as increased empathy, while other research notes that the subject can exacerbate competitive martyrdom narratives and even provoke a slight increase in racist attitudes or reinforce stereotypes
