Description
This is the story of an Iranian Muslim diplomat who was stationed in France during world war II. Abdol-Hossein Sardari saved hundreds of Jewish families, protected their properties and even secured food rations for them. By challenging the absurdity of the Third Reich's racial laws, he argued that Iranian Jews were not Semites, but of Aryan 'stock'.As a trained lawyer he managed to exploit the law stating that their blood and race were not Jewish.
His own life changed dramatically due to changes in politics and being recalled to Teheran, to face charges of overstepping his authority.
