Description
This thesis is based on four museums - the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the new Historical museum, Yad Vashem and the Sydney Jewish Museum. It shows how these institutions both engage and alter ancient Jewish symbols, rituals, archetypes and narratives thus transforming both 'what the Holocaust was and 'what it has come to mean', into largely redemptive naratives. The result is a timelss vision of the Holocaust.
