Rekindling the flame: American Jewish chaplains and the survivors of European Jewry, 1944-1948

Talks about the work of U.S. Army Jewish chaplains in trying to provide for physical and spiritual needs of Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. Aside from the more immediate requirements such as food, clothing or religious counselling, the chaplains also escorted some refugees to Palestine; acted as liasons with the American Jewish community, and assisted with arranging a political structure for the survivors.
