TítuloIrene, Meta, and Siegmund Boehm
DescripciónPhoto of Irene (left), Meta (middle) and Siegmund Boehm (right) in Carlsbad, Czechoslovakia. The photo was printed as a postcard, with an inscription of Carlsbad on the left: “Karlsbad macht Dich gesund!” (“Karlsbad restores your health!”)
The photo was taken in the summer of 1935, when Edgar and Irene—soon to be married— were visiting Meta and Siegmund.
Siegmund Boehm was born in 1869 in Berlin, Germany. He was married to Meta Boehm (nee Bendix) and had two children: Edgar and Alice. Siegmund owned a successful department store in Barth, Germany, and was an important business figure in the regional centre. In 1935, Siegmund was diagnosed with cancer, and spent his last year in the spa town of Carlsbad, Czechoslovakia. In 1936, Siegmund died, and his widow Meta moved back to Berlin.
