This drawing was inspired by Adam’s experiences throughout the war and the suffering that he witnessed and endured first-hand. This particular artwork is a representation of the Janowska concentration camp and the marginalisation and oppression endured by the Jewish people during this time. This artwork was used to illustrate 'Not to Forgive "Remember....Don't Forget" The Biography of Abraham Leib Schuss at the time of the Second World War' [in file]. Commenting on his artwork: Roslyn Sugarman: Would you have liked to have been an artist? Adam Szus: "With anti-Semitism, how can you be an artist! You need a trade to earn a piece of bread. After Yeshiva, I made a trade as a Silversmith. You needed to draw and they taught you how to draw. When I retired age 71 I had nothing to do. I started to draw. I saw a lot. These drawings are from my imagination."
