DescripciónThis is a black and white photograph of the South African Gateway at the Bradfield Jamboree. The Gateway features a rectangular wooden frame with four African animals and the South African flag attached and the words ‘South Africa’ and ‘Kenya’ placed on an angle within the rectangle. Below the rectangular frame is a frame with map of South Africa and other images. An Australasian Scout Jamboree was held at Bradfield Park on an old race course previously known as Cook’s Flat between December 1938 and January 1939. The Jamboree attracted Scouts from all over the world. Following the Jamboree, the site became a training depot for the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II.
