DescripciónThis is a Log Book kept by Maurice Trigger about the life and history of the 2nd Bondi Judean Rover Crew throughout 1939 and 1940. The Log Book features detailed diary entries along with hand sketches, photographs and newspaper clippings. Some of the diary entries describe the events which took place at the Menangle Camp between Xmas 1939 and New Year 1940, the Valentine Festival, the Easter Hike to Little Garnie (photos from this weekend can be seen in Reproduction Image M2013/001:018c), a Swimming Carnival held at the Rose Bay baths and a Table Tennis Tournament against 1st Woollahra-Paddington for the District Rover Cup. One of the newspaper clippings attached discusses the District Rover Moot at Marley which involved an evening investiture and sing song and a sport carnival held on the following day. The Log Book also highlights an important event for the 2nd Bondi Rover Crew involving the issue of an R.S.L Warrant to “Pop” Holloway which was the first Rover Warrant to be issued in the History of the Group at the time (13 years).
