Dr Deligdish, a Polish Jew, was taken by the Nazis to work as a doctor for them. His wife was sent to a concentration camp and did not survive. After the war, Dr Deligdish remarried a survivor who, along with her son, had jumped off the train bound for a death camp. Her son hit his head on part of a bridge and was killed. The woman, whose name is not known, but is assumed to be Bronislawa Deligdish, injured her neck but survived along with this bag that carried their belongings. In 1956, Dr Deligdish and his 2nd wife came to Sydney. They set up a medical practice at 943 King Georges Road, Blakehurst.
