Karoline was born on 13 June 1876 to David and Lisette (nee Lob) Kaufmann in Aachen, Germany. She married Wilhelm Stiel who was born on 5 December 1850 in Eschweiler, Germany. They had three children: Erich born on 19 October 1907, Rudolf born on 20 February 1904, and Kurt who only survived for three days.
Erich and Rudolf were Holocaust survivors who fled Germany in 1938.
Karoline passed away on 18 September 1876.
