DescripciónPottery sculpture of an African woman, by Molly Joffe. Hand built from stoneware clay, they are Bisque fired at 1080 degrees Centigrade, glazed and fired again at 1015 degrees. The surface decoration on the clay is both impressed and added on. Decorative glass and plastic beads are added at the end.
Molly started doing ceramics as a hobby on a part time basis in South Africa and only became seriously involved while living in San Francisco and attending a fine arts course at the San Francisco State University. She returned to Australia in 2000 and has recently started working in ceramics again.
