Article examines the experience of Jews in the Weimar Republic with the gradual normalisation of anti-Semiticism. Young eastern European Jews (many of whom were born in Germany) were not given citizenship and turned to communism and Zionism. The majority of to Jews adapted ted the gradual disenfranchisement. the economic crisis and depression gave impetus to the growing legalised antisemiticim.and discriminatoin.
