Descripción

What began as a trickle became a torrent after Israel became an independent state in May 1948. Holocaust survivors became a significant part of Israel's population. The survivors were often too traumatized to speak about their wartime experiences. In the early years of Israeli statehood, Holocaust remembrance became extremely politicized.
