Descripción

Focuses on the Arab, particularly Palestinian public discourse which has incorporated the Holocaust into its own political vocabulary either for the reconstruction of Palestinian national identity or for the demonization and delegitimization of Israel. In the Arab context, the result of the adoption of Holocaust metaphors distorted Arabs' perception of the Holocaust. They created a moral equivalence between what happened to the Jews in Europe under Nazi domination and what is happening to the Palestinians at the hands of Israel. They diminshed the significance of the Holocaust and challenged its uniqueness
