Descripción

Bruttmann mentions a few cases of punishment for aid to Jews inflicted by the Vichy authorities or the SS. In 1944 SS officer Alois-Brunner, was involved in hunting down Jews in the area of Grenoble. Another fact that nuances the link between punishment of help and refusing to help is that assistance was given to allied airmen coming down on western European soil, even though the severe punishment for this was well known
