Demonstrates that the destruction of Hungarian Jewry took place in a climate that had been conditioned by centuries of Christian hostility to Jews. The Christian churches were largely responsible for laying the groundwork for the public acceptance of the anti-Jewish measures. The three major Christian denominations approved almost all the anti-Jewish legislation
