This article looks at the complex issues relating to the transgenerational transmission of Holocaust memory and communal commemoration. It focuses on the following questions: How do survivors view the younger Jewish generation's knowledge of and commitment to the past? Do survivors trust that this younger Jewish generation will be able to preserve the memory of the fate of those murdered and the stories of those who survived?
