Descripción

After the Holocaust, Buber's optimism about God's continual presence and the ever-present possibility of entering into an I-Thou relationship with Him was severely challenged. The two selections presented in this essay both make the argument that while the Holocaust cannot be explained and indicates the "hiddenness of God" this hiddesness is not the same as nonexistence and that in the future God will yet reveal Himself again on the Jewish people.
