The author argues that beyond the crime against the Jews, the planned genocide of the Jewish race was the rupture in civilization - the negativity suffered principally by Jews splits into those counterposed perspectives: A historical perspective focusing on the specificity of the Event, and an anthropological perspective articulating the universally human generalization of that Event
