In this essay the author addresses the expectations of the Jews returning to France after the war and the fears of the French gentiles upon their return. The Jews expected a reinstatement of all rights and properties lost during German occuaption while the French citizens saw the return of the Jews as the imposition of economic, political and social dominance.
