In his essay 'Trivializing memory' Elie Wiesel posits the fundamental questions that confront artists, writers and filmmakers who try to capture an understanding of the Holocaust. While it seems easy to suggest that both art and films have a bias and involve degrees of misrepresentation, even stories told by survivors distort the past.
