Charlotte Dessen nee Behrens was born on 18th September 1925 in Gardelegen Germany. She was in Auschwitz Birkenau from May 1943 to January 1945. She attempted to emigrate to South Africa, Northern Rhodesia after the war but arrived in Australia in 1966.
