This book about Zivia Lubetkin's life covers her childhood in the small shtetl of Byten, Poland (today in Belarus), her actions as a trainer in the training communes of the Zionist youth movement Freiheit (later Dror), her courageous leadership activites in the Zionist underground in the Soviet Union and Warsaw ghetto as well as during the Polish uprising and her efforts later to rehabilitate Holocaust survivors, both in Poland and in Israel. It also covers her later life in Israel where she and her husband established the kibbutz Lohamel Hagetaot.
