Descripción
An important book about the economic basis of the Holocaust. Makes it clear that the Holocaust involved the death of over 11 million people, and cannot be limited to Jews alone. Discusses the economic basis of slave labour through the activities of Germany's largest chemical conglomerate. Farben became involved early in Hitler's rise to power, and ended by producing Zyklon-B gas, ironically the primary means of executing its slave labour force and their relatives. Many of Farben's factories were deliberately located in concentration camps to take advantage of the cheap labour costs. The post-war rebirth and growth of I.G. Farben is also discussed.
