Descripción

Addresses the question "What was it like to grow up as a young Jew in Nazi Germany before and into World War II?" Shows how the Jewish community attempted to provide for their children in an atmosphere of increasing repression. Barred from German schools, Jewish youth received a Jewish education in various schools run by Zionist organizations and the Reichsvertretung. The second part is a case study of Gross-Breesen and the third part contains rare photographs and excerpts from the correspondence and diaries of two Gross-Breesen trainees
