Description

Outside the major killing grounds, there extended a wide area, from Scandinavia to the Balkans, Italy and North Africa, which can be described as the periphery of the Holocaust. Geographically the periphery included areas under German influence, but outside direct German control. There the Holocaust was either limited, delayed, reduced, hidden from view or postponed.
