Description

This article is a compilation of a conversation and debate by Desplechin (filmmaker), Frodon and Mandelbaum (film critics), Lindeperg and Wieviorka (historians) and Mondzain (philosopher) on the question of how the Shoah affected, and continues to affect, the cinema. This question is discussed in relation to four films: "To be or not to be" by Lubitsch; "Night and fog" by Resnais; L'avontura" by Antonioni and "Drancy avenir" by des Palieres.
