The torch is the emblem of Legacy Australia, a charitable organisation aiming to care for dependents of deceased Australian servicemen. The maker's name, V.H. Blackinton & Co, is impressed on the reverse. This badge belonged to Australian Jewish serviceman Alfred Davis who was a wireless translator and intelligence officer in WWII, primarily serving in the Philippines.
