Issued by the Police Department for Foreigners, France, it identifies A. Hofbauer as "representative" (commercial) valid from 14 March 1946 to 13 March 1949. Booklet unfolds to 10 pages. Alfred Hofbauer was born in 1913 in Vienna and found refuge in France c. 1938. He escaped to Switzerland c. 1939, joined the French Foreign Legion 1939/1940, then the Pioneer Corps, British Army in 1943. He fought in North Africa and Italy in World War II and came to Australia in 1946.
